Tripod Heads -Which One?

A long time ago, listening to some good friends and fellow photographers, I invested in a heavy set of Bogen tripod legs topped with a Monfrotto gear head. Little did I know at the time, it made me a better photographer ! It does two things.... slows me down to diligently compose the image, and gave me the ability to fine tune the composition through slight adjustments. Too many times I see photographers trying to tweak the composition, and not being able to slightly modify the position of the camera. Problem solved with a gear head. I use the Monfrotto 410. It enables me to make ever so slight compositional adjustments, but also has a control for greater movement. You should consider one for your next "bag of tricks" addition.
